Mutant
So the ear still isn't 100% yet. In fact, just yesterday in the wee hours of 3am in the morning I woke up and I couldn't hear anything out of my right ear. I drove myself down to Queen's ER to see of a doctor could look into it. They flushed it out again and sent me home about a couple hours later.
I don't know what it is...although a comment from my fiancee DID bring up a possibility. She reminded me I went swimming at Lanikai with my brother right around Christmas time -- roughly the time I started noticing problems with this ear. Now this is just speculation, because I had been to Lanikai at least a couple times prior to this incident and had no other problems. Plus this didn't feel like an infection. But I won't rule out that it could have been infected with something in the water. If it's true that's kind of sad...I always saw Lanikai as one of the more cleaner beaches on our island.
So my fiancee is coming to town at the end of the week. Yeah I'm super excited about it, but it's just my luck I feel a little zit breaking out on the tip of my nose. AAAAH! How's that for luck...3 months away from my girl I'm relatively zit free, and now when I finally get to see her, apparently my nose wants to grow a 2nd head. Summammabeetch. Well, I'm applying everything I can to stop this sucker in its tracks. I thought these kinds of problems only affect people in puberty?
MMM hmm... I'm turning into a 2-headed deaf-ear mutant. Turn away I'm HIDEOUS!!!

Hey there. You have dirty fungus ear. I got that after going to your waterslide park back in 2002. Disgusting but treatable. You just need to cut off the ear - you still have use of your other ear - your head will just be unbalanced and keep tipping to one side - but at lease you can hear :} You might have to invest in a brown paper bag for the duration of your fiancee's stay to cover the second head that is emerging :} Ha ha - just shit stirring. Hope all is going well.
None of the doctors told me anything about "dirty fungus ear" hehe. Whatever it is I hope it gets better.
I may have lucked out with the zit. Thank you ProActive. That stuff is one of the few products that actually works as advertised.
Ah, you know...after reading up more online, it's possible that's what this IS! Something called "Swimmer's Ear" The symptoms sound the same.
Now I'm a little upset both doctors didn't mention or recognize it
Yeah, I am pretty sure you have an ear infection, just not the type that hurts, you know the one that is basically a fully blown ear ache - now thats crap. I remember for a couple of weeks after that trip to Hawaii in 2002, I felt like I constantly had water in my ear and my hearing was muffled. I also felt like my balance was out - because my ear was indeed infected. I felt a little lethargic as well - a general malaise so to speak. The doctor took a swab of both my ears and sent it off for testing. It turned out that both my ears were infected with some water born fungus, one ear worse than the other, hence the one blocked ear. I told the doctor about having returned from Hawaii, been swimming and he said it was from that. Sounds like you have been swimming in some dirty water. I was prescribed some ear drops to be used for two weeks and it cleared up. Killed the dirty bastards that were feeding on my eardrums. Go to your doctor again mate and get them to swab your ear canal and get him or her to prescribe you some ear drops. You should be right after that - or else cut of the ear :}
