Music has always been very closely tied to my creativity.\u00a0 Ever since I was very young, I always sketched, studied and sometimes slept with music playing. It didn’t really matter what genre…just something that suited my mood at the time.<\/p>\n

It goes without saying that sometimes when I need inspiration, I’d play some music in my office to try to get my mind going (much to the chagrin of my wife who prefers total quiet when she’s studying).<\/p>\n

The other day I rented a DVD full of Bjork videos. Her music is not for everyone, but I have to say, as weird as she is, she almost always pairs up with some of the most creative video producers in the field.\u00a0 Almost every video I’ve seen of hers is mezmerizing…I can’t tear my eyes away from it.<\/p>\n

I used to have a debate with a coworker. He’s a die-hard Metallica, hair metal fan.\u00a0 He hated Bjork.\u00a0 I said, “Look, Metallica hasn’t made anything creative since the mid-90s.\u00a0 Bjork still pushes the envelope of what music is till this very day.”<\/em> I don’t know if that convinced him or just supported his cause.<\/p>\n

That being said, if I had to choose a musician to pair with me on a design project, I’d much rather pair up with Bjork rather then Lars Ulrich.\u00a0 You just won’t catch me in any Swan dresses<\/a> anytime soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
