{"id":1402,"date":"2009-04-03T12:21:56","date_gmt":"2009-04-03T22:21:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/raphaellowe.com\/portal\/?p=1402"},"modified":"2009-04-03T13:06:38","modified_gmt":"2009-04-03T23:06:38","slug":"hellish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/raphaellowe.com\/portal\/hellish\/","title":{"rendered":"Hellish"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have had friends and family tell me, &#8220;I haven&#8217;t seen any Kingston pictures lately&#8221;.\u00a0 I started uploading some of them to my <a href=\"http:\/\/raphaellowe.com\/gallery\/v\/personal\/kingston\/\" target=\"_blank\">old gallery<\/a> just so they&#8217;re in one place.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah sorry, these past weeks have been quite nuts.\u00a0 This week I&#8217;ve started my long career as family chauffeur now&#8230;I drop-off and pick up both my wife and son to and from work and the nanny&#8217;s.\u00a0 It didn&#8217;t hit me until the other day when I thought to myself, <em>&#8220;Shit, every weekday for the next 15 or so odd years I&#8217;ll have to do this every morning and every afternoon!&#8221;<\/em> What did I get myself into?<\/p>\n<p>Next second it hits me, <em>&#8220;Holy shit, I actually got a wife and a kid to pick up now&#8221;<\/em>.\u00a0 That&#8217;s actually kinda cool, no less then 5 years ago my life was totally reversed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hellish&#8221; is a good way to describe early parenthood.\u00a0 Almost every parent I&#8217;ve talked to all tell me the same thing&#8230;the first 3 months are hellish and then it seemingly get&#8217;s magically better once you hit the 3-month mark.\u00a0 Like some magical baby fairy comes and sprinkles good-sleep powder on them or something so they can sleep through the night?<\/p>\n<p>I know I could use a little of that good-sleep fairy powder right about now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have had friends and family tell me, &#8220;I haven&#8217;t seen any Kingston pictures lately&#8221;.\u00a0 I started uploading some of them to my old gallery just so they&#8217;re in one place.
