It’s been a slower month. It’s a little scary. Not because I haven’t had slow months before, but even after 4.5 years of business, I still panic when there’s a change in activity.<\/p>\n
I keep thinking, “Is this it? Is this the big ‘recession’ everyone keeps talking about?”<\/em> That kind of thinking can be bad for a small business owner like myself. I think some part of business is a self-fulfilling prophecy so as soon as such a thought comes up I try to rail back.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It’s not always easy though. Yesterday I snapped at my wife. I was like, “Hey, do I have to do this all alone?”<\/em><\/p>\n Of course she had no answer. I mean, how can she? I’ve been running this business on my own how can she suddenly have input to help? I quickly realized how foolish it was of me to even ask.<\/p>\n It does get lonely sometimes making all your own decisions about the business. When it’s doing well, it’s one of the best feelings in the world “Yeah! I did this all myself sucka!”<\/em><\/p>\n But when things go wrong sometimes, there’s nobody to lean on but yourself. There’s nobody to blame, nobody to pick up your mistakes or to offer different perspectives. It’s a big wake up call. I don’t think there’s any easy solution to resolve this.\u00a0 Maybe going out there to network with other business owners going through the same situation helps a little…<\/p>\n On a positive note (see? railing back already), historically whenever I get into panic mode over the last few years, something always falls on my lap in the right time and place and I’m all good again.<\/p>\n I just gotta trust the mojo!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" It’s been a slower month.
