He did a good job of summarizing lessons I had to struggle to learn myself. If you&#8217;re a new photographer or designer, I definitely suggest giving this article some thought and putting it to heart.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u00a0If you want to be the best, seek to be around awesome people\u2013be it other artists, assistants, producers, clients, partners, whatever. Shoot high. Shoot for better than yourself.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>On a related note, I recently hired a photographer to do personal family shots. I hired the best I could find here locally, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ritacouryphotography.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rita Coury<\/a>, someone who&#8217;s quickly turning into a good friend. As it turns out, the photos I&#8217;ve seen so far are amazing&#8230;part of me feels so jealous that she could achieve so much with what seemed like very little effort. (I&#8217;ve taken thousands of shots of Kingston myself without the same impact) But as we took her out to dinner yesterday, she offered me so much good advice on how I might take better photos myself.
