Had to take my car into the shop yesterday for a broken water pump. In itself, it isn’t all that big a deal. But what was…disappointing to say the least…was the fact my car would be considered pretty new. Its a 2011 make and only 8k miles on it. You’d think that having anything break down on it would be very unlikely. But hey, shit happens. I’m not sweating it yet. Unfortunately my loaner wasn’t a R8. (hint guys: that would have been a good upsell opportunity! *wink wink*)<\/p>\n
My only concern is that it’s not a systemic problem that ends up rearing itself now and my car gradually turns into a lemon. I’ve been loving that thing.<\/p>\n
Am I turning into a car guy now? It would make my brother and pops proud…they’re both gear heads. I think that whole gene skipped over on me. But looking back I’ve always loved my cars whether it was an old beater or not. I even learned to love my maroon Subaru station wagon at some point in time up until it got stolen and used as a mule for a car chop shop.<\/p>\n
Nowdays I can sit there as a vegetable for hours watching the Mecum auctions and comparing notes on cars I’ll never be able to afford. Sad really…but kinda fun!<\/p>\n
