Stumbled across another photography site that focuses on Light Art Performance Photography.
It would be fun to do this. One problem is I don’t know anybody to come out and try this with me. Second problem is I don’t want to get mugged walking around some of the more sketchy areas around town in the middle of the night.
I can imagine the story – Mugger says, “well what have we here?”
Raph says, “Nothing sir, just me playing with lights and photos”
Insert crying and running here….

Looks like fun, I’d be willing to try this sometime. I took a photography class at Pacific New Media where we went out in pairs through Chinatown in the middle of the day. One of us ended up watching out for traffic while the other one snap some quick shots with a tripod from the middle of the road. I can see how doing this at night in Chinatown would require watching out for more than cars! Might need to practice setting off the flash manually at would be mugger followed by more running…
You might get some interesting shots of the mugger coming at you!
This might be a safer way to play with light art photography…

Hey hey, that’s pretty neat. Thanks for the link. Yeah it sure beats running from crack addicts.
