Been caught up the past week reading (yes, reading), the Ozzy autobiography called “I am Ozzy”.

I can’t put it down. I’m actually spending whatever break I have reading the darn thing…which is great. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been engrossed in a good book just to take my mind off of things. Don’t ask me why this book catches me so. I just like the guy’s humor and his experiences are amazing.

Two thoughts enter my mind when reading this:

  1. Ozzy’s gone through some of the most amazing, jaw-dropping experiences one guy can have in a lifetime. I’ve been in various bands over the last 20 years and my experiences pale in comparison (yes, not just the fact he’s a billion times more talented and rich). He’s just one of those type of guys you just wanna sit next to and hear the stories he has to tell. And from what I can tell of the guy’s reputation all these years, he’d actually be cool enough to do it. Seems like a genuinely nice guy.
  2. I can’t help but think about the irony of the situation. Here we are today and Ozzy’s sitting there like any other proud father watching his daughter doing “Dancing with the Stars”. Meanwhile all the Bible-thumping assholes who used to visit my school lecturing us about how Ozzy was singing devil-music, like David Koresh (yes, the one and only…he came to our school once), are the ones burning down women and children in a ball of fire. And you wonder why I’m so anti-religious?

Anyway, enough on my small little tirade…I’m going to go read my book.
