Day after surgery….not too bad. I’m up and about but I got this huge Frankenstein gauze around my head and a blue cup covering my ear. This would have made a fantastic Halloween costume last week. The surgery itself was still pretty freaky. It got pretty serious for me when they had me in those smock things with the blue booties & started plugging needles and IVs in my arm. Meanwhile my wife is talking nurse talk with the medical staff walking in to take care of me. Her eyes lighted up with the doc said he might be able to take a shot of the inside of my ear for her. /sigh.
After that it was just waiting and waiting. When you finally go into the procedure there’s nothing much else you can do. One second you’re looking around staring at the room and the next second the anesthesia kicks in — lights out! 3 hours later I groggily wake up.
Best parts about waking up? (1) my wife was there right next to me squeezing my hand, (2) my surgery was pau, and (3) I already hear that Obama won! WHOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!
