So far I’m thrilled with the evening photography classes I’m taking. We’re on our 2nd evening of 5 so far, and already if I never go to another class I think I’ve learned enough value out of the class to make it worth the tuition fee.
On our first evening assignment we were forced to stick to the manual setting on our camera, lock the ISO and shutter settings and just use the aperture dials to get an image that was underexposed, overexposed, and umm…just right.
We were to pick subjects that displayed any one of the following characteristics….shape, texture, lines, color or form. I tell you what I walked a 4 block radius around my neighborhood and discovered how ugly everything looked in the heat of the day. I ended up taking this shot of an old telephone pole the telephone company has been aiming to take down in front of my building the past month. Not an exciting photo, but I’m loving how I now know how to achieve really rich sky colors.
