So we went to this auto car show yesterday. This time we were actually on a mission. Our current far lease comes up this Summer so were on the market for the next car. Figured this car show to be a good opportunity to scope out all the potential cars we like before we hit the dealers.
I think I might be hitting an early mid life crisis because I really want a more exciting car this time around. The CR-V we’ve had the past few years was great. It’s a super practical car and it doesn’t look too bad (I refuse the whole family minivan idea, my life doesn’t suck that bad yet) I guess I’m a little jealous of my younger brother who’s always owning the fancy sports cars and vehicles…motorcycles, s2000s, his Skyline bah! Meanwhile my past car pedigree involved a beatup Celica and magenta Subaru station wagon that eventually got stolen and used as a mule to haul stolen car engines.
So this time around I told my wife I wanted something with a little more pizzaz. We deserve it, we work hard right? Yes yes I know, deserving something is one thing, putting extra money into something that does nothing but depreciate and gets me to point B no faster (especially here in Hawaii where you drive no longer than 5 minutes to get somewhere or sit 1 hour in traffic otherwise), doesn’t make any sense.
I digress.
So we sat in a whole buncha cars from Audi’s to Beemers. I didn’t get to sit in my dreamcar Ferrari Italia 458 but I drooled at it from several feet away. We narrowed out field down to a handful of cars that my wife felt was practical enough for us to use as a daily car, and not crazy expensive, yet had enough excitement for daddy to feel like he’s on an episode of Top Gear.
More later when we actually get closer to visiting some dealers. I’m getting my haggle hat ready.
