That’s the sound of me coming up for air.
Life is slowly getting settled down with the new arrival to our family. Today we took little Kingston over to his first doctor’s visit. Mom went ahead to her own doctor’s appointment, so dad was left all alone with the little pooper. As it just so happens, Kingston decided to give his dad a surprise present in his diaper…and he was still “giving” just as I pulled open the diaper too! Thanks a lot kid. Gung Hey Fat Choy to you too!
BUT, I managed. Got him a clean diaper, busted out his brand new stroller, got him packed into his carseat, and went to go meet up with mom. Not bad…I’ll make it as a father eventually eh?
I’m considering making a blog just for Kingston. I’ve long since been inspired by the “Sisters” blog I visit from time to time. While I’m nowhere in the same league as a photographer, I think it would be fun to do. Plus I can avoid having to send the same photos over and over to different family members and friends!
There have been moments where I was going a little crazy with all that’s going on….work, bills, doctors, meetings, deadlines etc. Meanwhile mom and the boy get’s all the attention. Nobody cares that dad still has a stuffed ear from recent surgery anymore. Or the fact he’s eating McDonalds almost exclusively for the past few days because that’s all the time he’s got. Is there such thing as post-poppy depression? Damnit there SHOULD be!
But then there have been moments where both mom and child are quietly napping – safe, happy, and secure. Sunlight beaming warmly on their faces. THEN you think to yourself, “Ahhhh, THAT’s what this is all for!” All is good.
