My child is highly suggestive at 3…and a half. By the way, it’s interesting that half-years are so important when you’re in pre-school. No fair that I don’t use half-years for my age anymore. I digress.
I just found it funny that anything he watches these days are typically followed by “I want that!” or “I want to be that!”. It doesn’t help when I tried to introduce him to Scooby Doo the other week on the Cartoon Network it was laden with commercials every 3 minutes. Everything from Barbie Dolls to Spider Man web shooters. It really killed my enthusiasm sharing a nostalgic moment with my boy. All I heard the entire time was “I want that!…. I want THAT!…. I want that!….I want THAT!!” It made no difference…so long as it was a TOY, he wanted it.
I gave up and promptly changed the channel back to PBS.
