One of my best friends noticed I was a bit remiss in posting anything lately – he wondered if everything was ok.  Yeah, for the most part I am doing ok.

Yes, occasionally life kicks my butt.  There was some nights in the last week were I stayed up till the early hours of the morning either trying to finish project deadlines or feeding little Kingston.  I swear that newborns MUST have some kind of internal radar because they can be sleeping like little angels…but the MINUTE you decide you’re safe to close your eyes and go to bed.  WAAAAAAAAAAH, he starts hollering loud enough to wake the neighborhood.

So we’re tired.  My wife has been tougher then me to be honest, despite the fact I can sometimes see red around her eyes.  She’s been doing most of the hardcore early morning wake-up feedings.  I struggle a bit each time to get up…but the most I can manage to do is change a diaper and then groggily go warm up the milk like a zombie before my wife sends me back to bed.  I’m not sure I’m even awake most times.  One day I’ll pass her the baby he’ll have his diaper stuck around his forehead.

Beyond projects, teaching, and this crying infant…it’s tax season AND I had to get my 2008 accounting caught up for my accountant and bookkeeper.  I don’t envy their position right now because my 2008 was crazy complicated both with my new status as a corporation and the fact we’re now first time home owners.  All this paperwork we had to dig up left and right.  My tax guy is busy trying to work his thing over my finances. In the end, this better be worth it…I think I’ll cry if I still have to owe Uncle Sam more money.

So you can see, it’s been a bit hard keeping my head above water, but I’m still here and kicking.  Anybody out there wanna say hello and send me a joke for laughs…I could use it!
