We had some problems getting Kingston into the Halloween mood this year for the first time. We did what we could — we took him to the costume store weeks ago, let him pick his own costume and I even got him into the mood by watching some selective   hero fighting scenes in the Avengers. He just loves imagining being the Hulk, Capt. America, Iron Man and Thor these days…we’d go rushing around the room fighting imaginary “bad guys”

So we take this fantastic Capt America costume home and he simply refused to put it on. I got really frustrated once and almost felt like throwing the thing away. But I knew you can’t force these things on him…at 3 years old he just didn’t get it yet. I was DYING to get him into the full suit and take pictures like I had in times past.

Flash forward to Halloween day we’re supposed to get him into costume for school. They were going to march the kids to some neighboring State offices for Trick or Treat. Again, Kingston refused to wear it that morning so I just brought the costume with him intending to tell the teacher “if he wants to wear it put it on. Otherwise just let him be”

He steps in the door to his class and sees all his friends in costume, he instantly asked me to put on his costume. I had to run my ass all the way to the car and back again so I could grab my phone and take this blurry shot.

These are the moments I live for!  HAIYAAAAAAAAH!!!
