Well well well…my new cards came in today. I was so nervous about these cards…they cost me almost a dollar each and if they came out bad, I think I’d dig a hole in the ground and shove my head in. All week long I don’t couldn’t think of much else (so sad huh?)

You know what? I don’t think they’re too bad. If you can’t tell…they’re plastic cards and they’re slightly transparent with a satin coating. When I was thinking of doing new cards, I had the idea that I wanted something with a bit more impact this time around. I thought about doing spot UV where parts of the card would have gloss effects, die cutting, even embossing.

But then I talked with my kid brother who told me about a plastic card he got where he just didn’t feel like throwing it away. Then just that same week at my networking meeting, someone brought in a card that was plastic as well. It wasn’t all that good looking but the point was that he was so impressed with it that he kept it to show our group. I thought, “Hmmm…some universal power was trying to tell me something”

Anyway, thank god these came out…otherwise this time around I’d have 1000 cards taking up landfill. I’m not even sure if these are bio-degradeable. So much for eco-friendliness Raph (/bonk). Hey there’s something to be said about a card that people will potentially prefer not to throw away right?
