I set in an all day PHP, JQuery meeting yesterday amongst campus developers. I thought to myself, “how is it I ended up being a web developer and I hate programming so much?” Is that odd? I mean, at one point in my life I really loved getting my hands dirty with this stuff…I programmed stuff on my Radio Shack Tandy machine in BASIC to do my homework for me. I used to build my own computers.

But I don’t know when but at some point I lost my taste for all of that. It’s like a little switch went off in my head I felt like I enjoyed appreciating the well-thought out end-result of design rather than the backend process. I just wanted stuff to work, is that too much to ask?

So while the other programmers in the room “oohed” and “aaahed” over the JQuery syntax, I was more concerned about how I’d get the 400+ members of my college campus faculty on the same page with the new site map.
