Having just finished this Fall semester of animation I thought this was a relevant post for the day. Gorgeous inspirational work! (via Gizmodo)

Mysterious Paper Sculptures

Posted by on Dec 13, 2011 in Art, Design Finds, Inspiration | 0 comments

Like something out of a fairy tale book like Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, this little interesting article was an interesting tale about how 10 mysterious paper sculptures started turning up around Edinburgh from an anonymous artist as a tribute to “libraries, books, words and ideas” Too cool!

Bah Humbug

I LOVE the Christmas season…but it really kicks my ass. I got tons of work to do, I’m backlogged on my accounting duties, I’ve got to grade my classes, I got to hurry up and record all my videos in time for next semester’s online classes, I got to rush on some work at the college web job because apparently work that was sitting around for the past 2 years suddenly needs to be done yesterday because of a big accreditation issue that will come up after Summer of next year. On top of that, I never can wrap my head around...

Potty Training

I think I’m really starting to resemble Larry David on “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, such that I’m being pessimistic a lot lately. Even when things are good, (and I appreciate that they really ARE good right now), I’m just perpetually in this state of feeling stressed, tired, and wired up. There have been some days lately I felt I had Parkinson’s because I’d find my hands shaking. I can’t get myself to relax! It sucks really because I’ve always figured myself out to be able to chill out whenever...

Upgrade policy for Adobe

Posted by on Dec 1, 2011 in Design News, My Business Adventures, Rants | 0 comments

I’m not sure how certain this will come to fruition, but it may be the case that Adobe’s tightening up their policy on upgrades to their Creative Suite products. Apparently, if you don’t have their latest, CS5 or CS5.5 versions of CS, you may be stuck paying the full price for the next version when it comes out. From Scott Kelby’s blog (president of NAPP): From the information I’ve gathered, it appears to me that this new upgrade policy for the next version of Adobe Photoshop and the Creative Suite (presumably called...

I love my new workplace.

So far I’m enjoying my new role as webmaster for the Community College. Yes, it’s challenging…not because of the actual technical work (because I’ve done web production many many times), but more so because of the way the academic environment works and how long it takes to get things decided. But there are a lot of not-so-obvious perks to working here: Lots of “toys”. Because it’s a role that ends up supporting faculty…they’re constantly ordering new equipment for me to review. I feel like...

Super Mario

Did I miss something, is it some special anniversary for Super Mario?  Just today I noticed Super Mario crop up in my daily browsing. Who over the age of 20 doesn’t have a soft-spot for this guy. I remember fondly those days when I used to go to the house of a friend who happened to have the first SNES of anyone I knew…watching the game of Super Mario Bros just blew my mind. I ended up eventually getting my own console and I recall playing that game to the point where you could literally blindly jump from any platform and expect...

High need low expectations

It’s been increasingly difficult to post regularly here on my blog sorry. Couple things going on here. First, I’ve split up my teaching material from my business website here, so I created another site and blog rather than mix everything all up on this site. I haven’t exactly worked out how I’d manage two blogs. The one on the class site I’d figure I’d post stuff related to the stuff I’m teaching. Problem being, that this blog I had also originally intended to list stuff that interests me —...
